Friedrich Karl Franz Hecker (September 28, 1811 – March 24, 1881) was a German lawyer, politician and revolutionary. He was one of the most popular speakers and agitators of the 1848 Revolution.

Hecker was one of the German Revolutionalists who came to St. Louis in 1840's. There is a small bronze bust of Hecker on the north side and wreath of oak leaves on the south side.

An attorney in Germany, Hecker's writing challenged the monarchy, and he and other advocates of German democracy attempted to overthrow the government and establish a republic.
