Vale Private Dudley Roberts (1923–2025) Farmer. Soldier. Settler. South Australia’s last surviving member of the 2/27th Infantry Battalion passed away on 10 October 2025, aged 102. He fought in New Guinea with a battalion rebuilt from the survivors of Syria, Kokoda, and Buna-Gona.
